The Stop Cop City movement in Atlanta is one of the biggest movements against environmental racism and state fascism in the United States today. In this short story “Don’t Let Me Down,” Georgia State Trooper Tim Carter leads a raid on the Weelaunee Forest to apprehend festival-goers and illegally charge them with domestic terrorism. During the raid, Lieutenant Carter’s own daughter is arrested, beaten, and sent to jail. His family torn asunder, Carter must grapple with the pain he’s inflicted on his own family and the purport of his livelihood.
